Mariners Earn CUNYAC Baseball All-Conference Recognition, Deltgen Named to First Team
FLUSHING, N.Y. Mitchell College senior pitcher, Adam Deltgen (Norwich, Conn.) was named to the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Baseball All-Conference First Team for his efforts this season. Fellow Mariners Clayton Boegler (Somerset, Mass.) and Jeff Perillo (Newington, Conn.) were both named to the CUNYAC All-Conference second team.

Baruch Beats Mitchell for CUNYAC Baseball Championship
Brooklyn, N.Y. - Top-seeded Baruch College scored two runs in its final at-bat defeating Mitchell College to win the 2009 CUNY Athletic Conference Baseball Championship 6-5 on Saturday afternoon at Keyspan Park. It is the Bearcats second tournament title, having captured the 2001 crown with a 5-3 win over the College of Staten Island.

Mitchell Baseball Wins in Extra Innings and Advances in CUNY Championship
Brooklyn, N.Y. - Mitchell College starting pitcher Adam Deltgen received a no decision for his 11+ innings of work, but scored the winning run in the top of the 13th inning as the Mariners eliminated John Jay College 8-4 at the 2009 CUNY Athletic Conference Baseball Championship Friday afternoon at Keyspan Park.

Baruch Defeats Mitchell in CUNY Championship Baseball Action
Brooklyn, N.Y. The Mitchell College baseball team fell to Baruch College today, 9-1, in the first game of the (City University of New York Athletic Conference) CUNYAC Championship this afternoon. For the Mariners, junior catcher Matt Radke (Terryville, Conn.) and sophomore shortstop Jeff Perillo (Newington, Conn.) each had two hits in the loss.

Mitchell Baseball to Compete at CUNY Championship
FLUSHING, N.Y. - The 2009 CUNY Athletic Conference Baseball Championships are rapidly approaching, with play in the three-day, double elimination championship to begin on Thursday, May 7. Play continues through May 9, at Keyspan Park in Brooklyn, N.Y. The top four schools after double round robin play will vie for the Conference Championship.

Mariners Earn NECC Baseball All-Conference Recognition, Boegler Named to First Team
ATTLEBORO, Mass. Mitchell College sophomore outfielder, Clayton Boegler (Somerset, Mass.) was named to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Baseball All-Conference First Team for his efforts this season. In eight conference games this season, Boegler batted .414 with 11 runs and 12 hits, including four doubles. Andrew Langlais (Ledyard, Conn.) and Jeff Perillo (Newington, Conn.) were both named to the NECC All-Conference Honorable Mention team. Junior first baseman Langlais batted .345 with 10 hits in 10 NECC contests, while sophomore shortstop Perillo hit .314 with 11 hits and nine RBI.

Mountaineers Rally Past Mariners In The Ninth in NECC Playoffs
BENNINGTON, Vt. - The Inaugural New England Collegiate Conference Baseball Championship Playoffs kicked off Friday morning with the Southern Vermont College Mountaineers rallying in the bottom of the ninth as they scored three runs to slip past the Mitchell College Mariners 11-10 with the winning run coming on a catcher interference with the bases loaded.

Mitchell Baseball Falls to Coast Guard in Regular Season Finale
NORWICH, CONN.(4/29/09)Junior John Jeffares (St. Petersburg, Fla.) two-run single capped a four-run sixth as Coast Guard rallied for a season ending 5-4 win over Mitchell in a non-conference game between the two New London schools played a Dodd Stadium a game in which seven seniors played their final collegiate game for the Bears.

Mitchell Baseball Earns #4 seed in NECC Tournament
ATTLEBORO, Mass. The Mitchell College baseball team (10-18, 5-5) has claimed the #4 seed for the 2009 NECC Baseball Tournament, which will be hosted by Southern Vermont College May 1-3, 2009. The Mariners have won four of their last six conference games, and they swept Newbury College this past weekend.

Graynor Tabbed as NECC Rookie of the Week
ATTLEBORO, Mass. - Mitchell College freshman outfielder Ethan Graynor (Leonia, N.J.) was tabbed as the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week for his efforts this past week. Graynor batted .429 (6-for-14) with one homer, four RBI and five runs scored as the Mariners finished with a 3-1 weekly mark. He hit safely in all contests including two multiple hit games. He finished with a .857 slugging percentage, a .556 on-base percentage and a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage for the week.

Baseball Takes Two From Newbury
NEW LONDON, Conn. The Mitchell College baseball team swept Newbury College this afternoon in a NECC doubleheader by the scores 5-4 and 12-5. Jared Bishop (Moodus, Conn.) hit a game-winning single in game one, and game two was an offensive explosion for the Mariners.

NEW LONDON, Conn. The Mitchell College baseball team split a key NECC doubleheader with Daniel Webster College this afternoon. Mitchell fell in a close one in game one, 1-0, and then bounced back to score 12 runs in game two and win 12-8.

Baseball Splits Doubleheader With City College of New York
NEW LONDON, Conn. The Mitchell College baseball team had no problem scoring runs in the first game of a doubleheader with City College of New York and won 10-4, but struggled to score runs in the second game and fell 3-1. Andrew Langlais (Ledyard, Conn.) had a strong performance on the mound in game one, as he went the distance and gave up six hits and only one earned run.

Baseball Splits CUNY Doubleheader with Staten Island
NEW LONDON, Conn. The Mitchell College baseball team pulled out an exciting win in the first game of a doubleheader with Staten Island, 9-8, and they fell in the second game, 11-5. The Mariners rallied to score three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning of game one on a two-RBI double by Jeff Perillo (Newington, Conn.) and an RBI by John McGarry (Waterford, Conn.).

Baruch College Rolls Past Mariners in Baseball CUNY Action
NEW LONDON, Conn. The Mitchell College baseball team had a rough day on the diamond today, as they fell twice to CUNY conference foe Baruch College, 20-8 and 21-4. Baruchs offense exploded for 41 runs and 41 hits, and the Mariners made 12 errors on the day.

Baseball Drops Two to Southern Vermont
NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Mitchell College baseball team fell in both games of a doubleheader this afternoon to the Mountaineers of Southern Vermont College, 6-3, 10-8. Jeff Perillo (Newington, Conn.) and Matt Hagan (Boulder, Colo.) led the Mariners offensively as they combined going 11-for-17 with seven runs scored and three RBI.

Mariners Lose Tough One to Albertus Magnus in Baseball
NEW LONDON, Conn. The Mitchell College baseball team lost in a slug-fest today to the Falcons of Albertus Magnus, 14-11. Shortstop Jeff Perillo (Newington, Conn.) went a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate with three runs scored, and Jared Bishop (Moodus, Conn.) was also perfect going 3-for-3 with three runs and one RBI in the loss for the Mariners.

Two Mariners Honored with NECC Weekly Honors
ATTLEBORO, Mass. Mitchell College sophomore infielder John McGarry (Waterford, Conn.) was named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week, and teammate Adam Deltgen (Norwich, Conn.) was tabbed as the Pitcher of the Week. McGarry batted .400 (8-for-20) chipping in four RBI and four runs for the Mariners. McGarry hit safely in five of the six games for the week and collected multiple hits in three contests. He slugged.500 and posted a .476 on-base percentage, while finishing the week with a .923 fielding percentage.

Mitchell Splits With Lehman, Deltgen Throws No-Hitter
NEW LONDON, Conn. (3-22-09) The Mitchell Mariners split with the Lightning of Lehman College today in baseball action, and the highlight of the day was a no-hitter thrown by Mitchells Adam Deltgen (Norwich, Conn.). Lehman won the first game of the doubleheader, 11-4, while Mitchell took the second game 4-1.

NEW LONDON, Conn. (3-21-09) The Mitchell Mariners lost both games of a doubleheader played this afternoon against John Jay College. Jared Bishop (Moodus, Conn.) had a productive afternoon, hitting two 3-run homeruns, but it wasnt enough to lift the Mariners past the Bloodhounds.

Mitchell Receives #2 Ranking in NECC Preseason Baseball Poll
ATTLEBORO, Mass. Elms College has been chosen as the preseason favorite to capture the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) baseball championship, it was announced today by Commissioner Del Malloy. Mitchell College received 43 points to notch the second-place spot. The Mariners nabbed four of the six first place votes. Becker College earned third-place with 37 points, while Newbury College placed fourth with 28 points. Voting for the preseason poll was conducted among the NECCs head baseball coaches.

NEW LONDON, CONN. - The Mitchell College baseball team hopes to be very competitive this season, and they will be working towards qualifying for both the CUNY (City Universities of New York) and the newly-formed NECC (New England Collegiate Conference)post-season tournaments.
