Two Mariners Honored with NECC Weekly Honors

Mitchell College sophomore infielder John McGarry (Waterford, Conn.) was named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week, and teammate Adam Deltgen (Norwich, Conn.) was tabbed as the Pitcher of the Week.  McGarry batted .400 (8-for-20) chipping in four RBI and four runs for the Mariners.  McGarry hit safely in five of the six games for the week and collected multiple hits in three contests.  He slugged.500 and posted a .476 on-base percentage, while finishing the week with a .923 fielding percentage.

Senior hurler Adam Deltgen (Norwich, Conn.) enjoyed a strong week, posting a perfect 0.00 ERA and going undefeated with a 2-0 week, while completing all 14 innings pitched.  Deltgen threw a no-hitter in a 4-1 win over Lehman, fanning 10 while walking only three batters.  In 14 innings pitched, Deltgen surrendered only four hits, while striking out 17 batters.  Deltgen was also named (City University of New York Athletic Conference) CUNY Pitcher of the Week, a conference of which Mitchell is an affiliate member.

The Mariners are back in action on Thursday, March 26th when they host Albertus Magnus in a non-conference game at 3:00 pm.
