ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Mitchell College junior Kyle Hartenstein was a repeat selection as New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for the sport of baseball, as announced by the league on Monday morning.
Hartenstein batted a team-high .571 last week with a double, three RBI and two runs scored. He hit safely in all four games and went 6-for-10 in league play against Elms. He slugged .643 for the week and had an on-base percentage of .588. The lefty second baseman batted over .500 in all four games while also tallying two walks.
It marked the third time this season that Hartenstein has been named NECC Player of the Week (March 6, April 10). He has started all 27 games this season and is batting .452 with 30 RBI and 34 runs scored. He leads the Mariners in runs, hits (47) and doubles (11) and has hit safely in 20 of his last 21 games.
Mitchell (18-9 overall, 7-3 NECC) will next host Wesleyan University on Tuesday, April 18 at 4 p.m.
