ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Mitchell College senior Bryton Ferris was named New England Collegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week for the sport of baseball, as announced by the league on Monday morning.
Ferris tossed a nine-inning complete game to give Mitchell its first win of the season against Otterbein last week. He allowed only two runs on nine hits and struck out five as the Mariners prevailed 3-2. It marked the second complete game for the left-hander in his career, and the first since his rookie season.
Ferris entered his final season with the lowest career ERA in the school's Division III history. In 23 career starts he holds a 14-4 record with a 3.02 ERA.
Mitchell (3-1 overall) continues its Florida trip with a game against Heidelberg University today at 11 a.m.
