Jan 22, 2007 MEN'S BASKETBALL DOMINATES LEHMAN COLLEGE 89-62 NEW LONDON, CT- Led by a 26 point effort by freshman Eric Murray (Bassick
HS/Bridgeport, CT) and a double-double (23 points, 11 rebounds)
from senior center James Dunleavy (Fair Haven
Union/Fair Haven, VT), Mitchell College (7-8) ran away with a
victory over Lehman College (NY) (6-13) Monday evening 89-62.
The Lightning were paced by senior forward Lavar Larrier's (New
Rochelle HS/New Rochelle, NY) 13 points and a 12 point, 10 rebound
showing from leading scorer Duane Rhoden (Soph., Dewitt
Clinton/Bronx, NY).
It was a fast paced game with both teams employing an up-tempo
run and shoot offense. Mitchell led by 13 at the break and by
as much as 32 in the second half. The Pequots set a
season-high team assist total of 26 led by senior guard Tony Smith's (Wethersfield
HS/Wethersfield, CT) 13.
Mitchell will host top 25 ranked Keene State (24th
Week 7) Thursday, January 25th at the Yarnall Center for
a 7:00 PM tip-off. Lehman will rest the rest of the week and
host CUNYAC rival New York City College of Technology on Saturday,
January 27th for a 2:15 PM start.
