DEPAOLO SCORES 19 IN 61-82 LOSS TO CROSS TOWN RIVAL CONNECTICUT COLLEGE
NEW LONDON, Conn--The Connecticut College men's basketball team (16-4) cruised to an 82-61 victory against Mitchell College (2-19) at Luce Fieldhouse Tuesday night. Senior Christian Mosley (Virginia Beach, Va.) poured in a career-high 30 points, tying Dwayne Stallings for the program's single game record with eight triples. Mosley was a sizzling 8-for-9 from beyond the arc and shot a scorching 11-for-12 from the field.
Charles Stone (Hackensack, N.J.) tallied 20 points, eight rebounds and four assists, shooting 8-for-11 from the field. Stone reached another career milestone, becoming the fourth Camel to top 1,300 points. Stone has amassed 1,317 points and 675 boards in his career. Shavar Bernier (Dover, N.H.) added nine points, six rebounds and four assists in the triumph. Connecticut College head coach Tom Satran was proud of Mosley's performance in a memorable night at Luce Fieldhouse.
"Overall we didn't play our best but were able to pull away from Mitchell who I thought played very hard," Satran stated. "Our defense was subpar and not up to the expectations we have for our program but we will continue to work on it. Chris shot beautifully and I'm happy he had such a good night because he has worked very hard on his game the past four years."
Michael DePaolo (Asbury, N.J.) finished with 19 points and six rebounds for Mitchell. Eric Murray (Bridgeport, Conn.) added 16 points and five rebounds. Mosley drained seven treys in the opening half, topping his career-high with 25 points in the first stanza. In the second stanza, the Camels cashed in on a 15-to-5 run and built their largest lead of the night with 11:59 to go, 58-37. Stone keyed the rally, netting eight points during the stretch. The Camels continued to cruise to the 82-61 victory.
