Ford Repeats as NECC ROW

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – For the second straight week, Mitchell College sophomore Joshua Ford was named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week for the sport of men's basketball, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
Ford averaged team highs of 13.3 points and 11.7 rebounds per game last week as Mitchell split a pair of conference contests. He scored 16 points and added a game-high 14 rebounds along with five assists, two steals and two blocks in a win over Southern Vermont College. He also netted 14 points and pulled down a game-high 13 boards in a loss at Wheelock College.
Ford has played in 11 games this season while making seven starts. The 6-4 forward leads the Mariners in scoring (13.3 ppg), rebounding (11.7 rpg) and blocks (16) and is shooting 50 percent from the floor. He also leads the NECC in rebounding and ranks eighth in the nation in the category.
Mitchell (5-6 overall, 3-2 NECC) will next play at Becker College on Tuesday, January 17 at 8 p.m.
