Mar 22, 2008 Dineen Leads Mitchell Lacrosse To First Victory Of 08 New London, CT (Story by Mike Loudon): Freshman Jeff
Dineen (Redding, CT) stole the show in Mitchell's
12-11 win over the Hornets of Lyndon State College. Dineen put
fourth a masterful performance with a game high 7 goals and 1
assist.
Mitchell went down 6-4 after the first period, but with a steady
defensive effort throughout the game, the Pequot's were able to
mount a successful offensive attack scoring four goals in each of
the first three periods. Senior Jeff
Cretella (North Haven.CT) made 18 saves in the pipes
for the Pequots.
Junior co-captain Zach
Ledvina (New Bedford, MA) dished out the assists with
five and a goal. Freshman Tim
Goldberg (Southington, CT) gave a good boost to the
offense with three goals and one assist.
The Lyndon State Hornets were led by Scott Scott (Amhurst, NH)
who tallied 3 goals and one assist. Craig Salvagno (Trumbull,CT)
and Nathan Taylor ( Danville,VT) both scored two goals for the
Hornets. Goalie Matt Adams made 19 saves in the net for Lyndon
State in a losing effort.
Mitchell College will return to action on Saturday March
29th as they take on Salem State. Lyndon State will
travel to Green Mountain on Sunday March 30th.
