Softball's Hoxie Tabbed NECC Player of the Week
ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Mitchell College junior Nikki Hoxie was named New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for the sport of softball, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
Hoxie batted .556 (5-for-9) with four RBI and two runs scored last week as Mitchell split a doubleheader against Lyndon State College. After finishing with a pair of hits in the series opener, she went 4-for-5 with a double and four RBI in a 14-13 victory in the nightcap. She also swiped two bases on the day and played an error-free second base.
Hoxie has started and played in all 12 games this season and is batting .286 with five RBI and eight runs scored. She leads the team with three doubles and six stolen bases.
Mitchell (3-9 overall) will next host a doubleheader against Johnson & Wales University on Wednesday, March 30 at 3 p.m.
