Harris Tabbed as NECC Rookie of the Week
NEW LONDON, CONN. - Mitchell College freshman center Destiney Harris (Bristol, Conn.) averaged 23.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game to help the Mariners earn a pair of NECC victories. Harris began the week with 21 points, four rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots in Mitchell's 92-63 win over Southern Vermont. She followed with 25 points, nine rebounds and two steals in a 92-58 triumph over Becker. This is the second time this season that she has earned this honor.
On the season, Harris is averaging a double-double with 13.6 points per game and 10.1 rebounds per game. She also has grabbed 19 steals and is shooting 49% from the floor and 76% from the line.
Mitchell is 4-7 overall and 3-0 in the NECC and is back in action on Thursday January 22nd when they travel to Bay Path College.
