Mitchell Women Roll to Victory Over Southern Vermont

 NEW LONDON, CONN. - The Mitchell women cruised to a 92-63 win over the Mountaineers of Southern Vermont on Tuesday evening.  The Mariners had six players score in double figures in the lopsided victory to improve their record to 3-6 overall and 2-0 in the NECC.

Jen Iglesias (Waterbury, Conn.) and Destiney Harris (Bristol, Conn.) each scored 21 points, while Brittany Smyth (Winsted, Conn.) chipped in with 12 points.  Alix O'Neil (New London, Conn.) registered a double-double on the evening with 11 points and 12 rebounds.  Allison Peck (Colchester, Conn.) and Tania Gee (West Haven, Conn.) rounded out the double figure scoring with 11 points apiece.

The Mountaineers were led by Joa Claircius (Clermont, Fla.) who had 16 points and Kaylay Whitman (Bennington, Vt.) who netted 15 points in the loss.

Mitchell jumped out to an early 27-4 lead and never looked back en route to their second consecutive home win.  The score at the half was 46-16, and the Mariners maintained a healthy lead throughout the second half.

Mitchell is back in action on Thursday, January 15th when they travel to Becker College.
