Senior Domenico Santiago averaged team highs of 20.0 points and 14.5 rebounds per game last week as the men's basetball team opened the season with a pair of games at the Lafrance Hospitality Tournament. Despite battling foul trouble, he notched a double-double of 19 points and a game-high 13 rebounds in a win over Lehman in the opening round. In the championship game against UMass Dartmouth he added 21 points and a game-high 16 boards and landed a spot on the all-tournament team. He shot 62 percent for the weekend and also recorded four assists, three steals and a block. For his efforts, Santiago was named NECC Player of the Week on Monday for the fourth time in his career.
