Men’s Golf Hosts Wentworth and Lesley
GROTON, Conn. – The Mitchell College men's golf team returned to action on Wednesday afternoon, hosting the Wentworth Institute of Technology and Lesley University in the Mitchell Invitational II at Shennecossett Golf Course.
Sophomore Nathan Mahoney (Stonington, Conn.) paced the Mariners with a round of 90 (+19). Seniors Jacob Quiles (Wallkill, N.Y.) and Walker Baillargeon (Norwich, Conn.) followed closely behind, each carding a 91 (+20). Sophomore Luke Pavia (Bolton, Mass.) posted a 99, while fellow sophomore Tommy Daly (Wethersfield, Conn.) rounded out the lineup in fifth for Mitchell.
As a team, the Mariners totaled 371 (+87). Lesley finished at 328 (+44), while Wentworth captured the team title with a combined score of 298 (+14).
Wentworth's Garrett Kendall earned medalist honors, firing a one-over-par 72.
The Mariners are scheduled to return to their home course when they host the Mitchell Invitational III on Wednesday, October 1.
