Cross Country Races in Travis J. Fuller Invitational
BOURNE, Mass. – The Mitchell College men's and women's cross-country teams raced back into action on Saturday at the 20th annual Travis J. Fuller Invitational on the Cape Cod Canal Trail.
In the men's 8K race, senior Tim O'Hayre (Hull, Mass.) placed 10th overall with a time of 33:09, while junior Jonathan Hecker (Falls Church, VA) was the second finisher for the Mariners in 35:41. Freshman Jeremy Collins (Stonington, Conn.) was next to cross the finish line for Mitchell in 41:41. Sophomore Lynwood Cogdell (Bridgeport, Conn.) turned in a time of 44:10, while sophomore Preston Cheng and freshman Skyler Curtiss (Coventry, Conn.) rounded out the pack with times of 44:23 and 44:24, respectively.
Senior Morgyn Perkins (Bristol, Conn.) was the top female finisher in the 5K race, placing 10th overall with a time of 28:29, with senior Charolette Rowley (Bedford, N.Y.) close behind at 32:48. Senior Sarah Latch (Hampstead, N.H.) and junior CJ Alexander (New London, Conn.) posted times of 39:20 and 40:45, respectively, while freshman Cenieya Nieves (Bridgeport, Conn.) rounded out the pack at 53:33.
The Mariners return to action on Saturday, October 18, when they compete in the Connecticut College Invitational.
