Men’s Golf Hosts Mitchell Invitational III
GROTON, Conn. – The Mitchell College men's golf team welcomed Albertus Magnus College and Eastern Connecticut State University to Shennecossett Golf Course on Wednesday afternoon for the Mitchell Invitational III. The Mariners finished third overall with a team score of 380 on the par-71, 6,562-yard course.
Eastern Connecticut claimed the top spot in the three-team field with a team score of 305 (+21), followed closely by Albertus Magnus at 312 (+28).
Mitchell was paced by sophomore Luke Pavia (Bolton, Mass.), who carded the team's low round of the day, a 21-over-par 92. Senior Walker Baillargeon (Norwich, Conn.) and sophomore Nathan Mahoney (Stonington, Conn.) followed closely with rounds of 95 and 96, respectively, while senior Jacob Quiles (Wallkill, N.Y.) fired a round of 97 (+26). Sophomore Tommy Daly (Wethersfield, Conn.) rounded out the Mariners' lineup.
ECSU's trio of Ryan O'Donnell, Ethan McDaniel, and Nick DiNino shared individual medalist honors, each posting rounds of 74 (+3).
The Mariners will return to action Thursday, October 2, when they compete in the EC Invite, hosted by Emmanuel College at South Shore Country Club.
