Newbury Defeats Mitchell 7-2
(NEWBURY SPORTS INFO)-The Newbury College women's tennis team defeated visitors Mitchell College in impressive style by the score of 7-2 in Chestnut Hill, MA today in their final match of the season.
The Nighthawks received several superior performances on the day as Newbury swept the doubles match and took 4 of 6 in the singles match. Anna Collins (Hopkinton, MA/ Hopkinton), Stacie Beliveau (Northwood, NH/ Coe-Brown Academy), and Stephanie Valentine (Pleasant Valley, CT/ Saint Paul Catholic) were all outstanding in their singles match winning in impressive style.
Mitchell College was very competitive and was led by Jenny Travella and Melanie Miela, who won their singles matches on the day.
Newbury College seniors Laura Luna and Lauren Daston were congratulated and thanked for a their efforts and contributions to Newbury College and the women's tennis team at a senior day ceremony preceding the match.
