Women's Tennis Falls at Saint Joseph
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The Mitchell College women's
tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision at Saint Joseph College on
Wednesday afternoon.
Picking up their first wins of the season for the Mariners (0-3
overall) were senior Ashley Boutin and freshman Arianna Kamm.
Boutin defeated Shawanna Jefferon by scores of 6-0, 6-1 to claim
victory at No. 4 singles while Kamm topped April Loteczka at No. 6
singles by finals of 6-2, 6-1.
In doubles play, the Mariners put up a fight at the No. 2 and 3
spots. The team of junior Amanda Resnick and Boutin lost 8-6 at No.
2 while sophomore Caitlin Brown and junior Rebecca Ciccarone lost
in a tiebreak 9-8 (7-5) at No. 3.
Mitchell returns to action at home against Johnson & Wales
University on Thursday, September 16 at 3:30 p.m.
