Becker Trumps Women's Tennis
LEICESTER, Mass. - The Mitchell College women's tennis team dropped
an 8-1 conference match at Becker College on Wednesday
afternoon.
Mitchell (0-8 overall, 0-5 NECC) opened the contest by losing
two doubles matches on the court and forfeiting the third. The
Mariners won only one match in singles play, with freshman Mackenzie
Flanagan continuing her stellar play at the No. 1 spot. She
defeated Becker's Megan Nessen in straight sets by finals of
6-4, 7-5 to improve to 5-0 in conference play.
Becker (8-3 overall, 5-0 NECC) won the other four singles matches
in straight sets. The Mariners also forfeited at No. 6 singles.
Mitchell will next host Saint Joseph College on Friday,
October 1 at 3:30 p.m.
