Women's Tennis Falls at Lesley
CAMBRIDGE, MA - Lesley University finished off the conference
slate with an 8-1 win over Mitchell College in New England
Collegiate Conference women's tennis action on Saturday
afternoon.
Courtney Mullen won 6-4, 6-1, over freshman Mackenzie
Flanagan at No 1 singles, then teamed with Hagar Memlies to
upend Flanagan and senior Kelly Walsh at
No. 1 doubles, 8-3. Memlies, meanwhile, bested junior Lauren Rowley at
No. 5 singles 6-0, 6-2.
At No. 2 doubles, Lesley's Nicole Smith and Brenna Donovan topped
junior Amanda
Resnick and senior Ashley Boutin 8-1.
Christina Constantine, meanwhile, worked with Michelle Side in
earning her first victory of the season in an 8-0 victory at No 3
doubles.
Side, Smith and Donovan also earned singles victories for the Lynx,
which improved to 5-4 overall and 4-4 in NECC play.
Mitchell dropped to 0-12 overall and 0-8 in conference action.
Sophomore Caitlin Brown
picked up the Mariners' only point at No. 6 singles, posting her
first victory of the season.
Mitchell will host Saint Joseph College in its final regular season
home match of the season on Sunday, October 10 at 10 a.m.
