McBride Tabbed NECC Rookie of the Week
ATTLEBORO, Mass. -- Mitchell College freshman Katie McBride was named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week for the sport of women's soccer, as announced by the conference on Monday morning.
McBride scored the game-winning goal in an overtime victory at Newbury College last week. The first-year midfielder netted the golden goal just a minute into the second overtime period to give the Mariners their second conference win of the season.
McBride has played in six games and made two starts this season. She ranks tied for second on the team in scoring with two goals for four points.
Mitchell (2-5 overall, 2-1 NECC) will next play at Southern Vermont College on Wednesday, October 10 at 4 p.m.
