Roman Named GNAC Player of the Week
WINTHROP, Mass. – Mitchell College senior Cassandra Roman (New London, Conn.) has been named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week in women's soccer, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
It marks the first Player of the Week honor of her career since Mitchell joined the GNAC prior to the 2023-24 academic year.
Roman had a career day in the Mariners' season-opening 9-1 victory over Yeshiva University, scoring a personal-best five goals on seven shots to finish with 10 points. Her five goals matched the single-game program record in the Division III era, while Mitchell's nine-goal output tied for the second-most in a game during that span.
The Mariners (1-0, 0-0 GNAC) are set to open conference play on Saturday, September 10, when they host Albertus Magnus College.
