Baseball's Chapman Earns ECAC Honor
CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Senior Jeremy
Chapman, a member of the Mitchell College baseball, was named
ECAC Division III New England Co-Pitcher of the Week on
Tuesday.
Chapman, who shares the honor with Suffolk University’s Alex
Torres, threw a complete game shut-out against Lyndon State College
last week. He allowed only one hit and struck out nine in the
Mariners’ 9-0 win. Chapman didn’t issue a walk or allow
a runner past second base and picked up his first victory of the
season.
Chapman has yet to allow an earned run in two appearances this
spring. In 13.0 innings he’s struck out 15 and walked one
while allowing only four hits. Opposing teams are batting .085
against him.
Mitchell (4-5 overall) returns to action on Wednesday, March 31 for
a single game at Johnson & Wales University at 3:30 p.m.
