Chapman Earns ECAC Weekly Honors
CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Mitchell College senior Jeremy
Chapman was named ECAC Division III New England Pitcher of the
Week on Tuesday, as announced by the Eastern College Athletic
Conference.
Chapman, who was also tabbed NECC Pitcher of the Week on
Monday, takes home ECAC accolades for the second time
this season. He earned the distinction for the first time on March
30.
Chapman pitched the first game of the series against Southern
Vermont College over the weekend and led the Mariners to a 4-0
victory. The complete-game shutout was his second of the season,
and he fanned a career-high 15 batters over seven innings while
issuing four walks. The win improved his record to 3-0 on the
season.
Chapman leads the Mitchell pitching staff with a 0.33 ERA. He has
allowed only one earned run and 11 hits in 27.0 innings of work,
and opposing teams are batting just .115 against him in four
appearances.
Mitchell (9-8 overall, 4-2 NECC) will next host Daniel Webster
College on Saturday, April 17 at noon.
