Ortega to Present at 2012 Mohegan Sun World Softball Coaches' Convention
NEW LONDON, Conn. - Mitchell College head softball coach Jillian Ortega will be one of 15 presenters at the 2012 Mohegan Sun World Softball Coaches' Convention.
The annual event, which will be held on Saturday, January 21 at the Mohegan Sun Convention Center, features a blockbuster presenter line-up. The coaches' clinic features a curriculum designed especially for softball coaches and players and attracts more than 1,000 coaches and players from all levels of play.
Ortega will be a presenter for the third year in a row. Of the 15 presenters she is one of three current collegiate head coaches and the only one from a Division III institution.
Other presenters at the 2012 Mohegan Sun World Softball Coaches' Convention include: USA Softball Superstar Outfielder and World Champion Jessica Mendoza; NFCA Hall of Famer and Legendary UCLA Softball Coach Sue Enquist; University of South Carolina Women's Softball Coach Beverly Smith; USA Softball National Team Infielder Ashley Charters; Planet FastPitch Founder and Youth Pitching Expert Denise Davis; and New York Yankees Strength & Conditioning Director and Major League Strength Consultant Dana Cavalea, among others.
Ortega was named head coach at Mitchell in September 2011.
