Volleyball's Tempkins Earns NECC ROW Honors
ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Mitchell College freshman Jaclyn Tempkins was named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week for the sport of women's volleyball, as announced by the conference on Monday morning.
Tempkins started and played in two matches last week for the Mariners (1-1 overall). The rookie hitter totaled 16 kills, six blocks and three aces as the team split matches with Pine Manor College and the College of New Rochelle. She had a team-high 11 kills and added five blocks in a 3-0 victory over New Rochelle. She also recorded five kills in seven attacks against Pine Manor.
Mitchell will next host Saint Joseph College in its home opener on Wednesday, September 14 at the Yarnall Athletic Center. The match is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
