Men's Tennis Earns Top Seed for 2012 NECC Championship
ATTLEBORO, Mass. - The Mitchell College men's tennis team will be the number one seed in the 2012 NECC Championship, as announced by the conference on Sunday night.
Mitchell and Regis College finished the regular season tied atop the NECC men's tennis standings with a record of 9-1. Based on predetermined tiebreakers, Mitchell (9-1, 9-1 NECC) earned the top seed while Regis will be the second seed.
Mitchell will host fourth seed Becker College (5-9, 5-5 NECC) in a semifinal match on Wednesday, April 25. Regis (9-1, 12-6 NECC) will host third seed Lesley University (5-6, 5-5 NECC) on Wednesday.
The top four teams qualify for the NECC Championship. Predetermined tiebreaking procedures were used to seed teams with identical conference winning percentages.
Semifinal games will be played on Wednesday, April 25 with winners meeting Saturday, April 28 at highest remaining seed. Game times and dates are subject to change.
