Former MBB Players Return to Campus for Alumni Game
Some familiar faces returned to the Yarnall Athletic Center over this past weekend to take part in the first annual Mitchell College Men's Basketball Alumni Game.
Eleven former players took the court once again for a friendly contest against the current roster of Mariners. And although some hadn't seen each other or been back to campus since graduation, the alumni quickly came together to post a 96-93 victory.
The aim of the alumni game was to bring back members of Mitchell's Division III teams for the first time ever. Those who participated included (pictured l-r) Pat Nielsen '11, Eric Murray '10, Mike DePaolo '10, James Dunleavy '07, Marc Wesly '06, Matt Bindner '09, T.J. Smith '07, Chris Brown '07, Tyler Blier '11, David Andrade '06 and Tony Smith '07.
"It was great to see everyone back here and have a little fun in the process," said head coach Todd Peretz. "The event was well received by everyone—the alums, their families and our current players—and I hope it's something we continue to do and grow it bigger every year."
