Bison Topple Women’s Basketball to End Semester

DUDLEY, Mass. – The Mitchell College women's basketball team concluded the fall semester by suffering a 96-57 setback to Nichols College on Thursday evening in non-conference action at the Nicholas Athletic Center.
Senior Kyrsten Lucas (Manchester, MD) and freshman Jordyn Streitmatter (Brewster, Mass.) paced the Mariners with 14 points apiece. Lucas collected her first double-double of the season by grabbing 10 rebounds, while freshman Jade Hypolite (Houston, TX) finished with eight points, 13 rebounds, three assists, and one steal. Fellow freshman N'Tai Teague (Houston, TX) pulled down 12 boards and scored six points for Mitchell.
Summer Klein and Abrianna Vazquez each scored 12 points to lead the Bison, while Angie Coletti and Rylee Barrieault netted 11 points apiece in the win.
The Mariners (2-4, 0-0 GNAC) will return to the court on Saturday, January 4, when they open Great Northeast Athletic Conference play at Lasell University. The Bison (6-2, 0-0 CNE) will also pause for the holiday break before jumping back into action on Thursday, January 2, when they host Dean College.
