Jennings Named GNAC Women’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Week
WINTHROP, Mass. – Mitchell College sophomore Chloe Jennings (New London, Conn.) was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week for the sport of women's lacrosse, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
The first-year midfielder turned in a big week, tallying 11 goals and two assists, helping lead the Mariners to a 1-1 record, including their first win and conference win of the season. Jennings added 13 draw controls, six ground balls, and four caused turnovers with a shot on goal percentage of 80%.
Jennings began the week with five goals, five draw controls, and three ground balls in a non-conference game against the Wentworth Institute of Technology on Wednesday, March 18. She was then instrumental in Mitchell's 13-11 win over Albertus Magnus College on the road Saturday, March 22, scoring six times, assisting on two other goals, winning eight draw controls, causing four turnovers, and scooping three ground balls.
The Mariners (1-3, 1-2 GNAC) return to action with a non-conference game at Salem State University on Thursday, March 27, at 4:00 pm.
