NEW LONDON, Conn. – The U.S. Coast Guard Academy came away with a 21-1 non-conference victory over Mitchell College on Wednesday evening.
The Bears (9-2 overall) had 13 different goal scorers in the contest led by Riley McNulty's six points on three goals and three assists. Matt Huemme had a season-high three goals while Jacob Groff had four points with a goal and three assists. Will Iorio finished with two goals and two assists and Cole Hudson netted three goals as well.
Jesse McKeever was the lone goal scorer for Mitchell (0-10 overall). His goal in the third quarter was his ninth of the season.
Coast Guard scored seven goals in the first quarter led by five points from McNulty. The Bears added five more scores in the second period and led 12-0 at the break.
Goalie Charles McAllister (1-0) made two saves and allowed one goal in his first career start. Josh Ordonez played the final quarter and made one save. Marcel Quinlan (0-10) made seven saves between the pipes for the Mariners.
Mitchell will next host Purchase College on Wednesday, April 18 at 4 p.m.
