Men's LAX Duo Nabs NECC Honors
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Two members of the Mitchell College men's lacrosse team were recognized by the New England Collegiate Conference on Monday as the league announced its weekly honors.
Senior Ethan LePain was named NECC Offensive Player of the Week while sophomore Weston Schumacher was tabbed NECC Defensive Player of the Week. Both received the honors for the first time in their careers.
LePain led the Mariners with six points on five goals and one assist over two road games last week. He finished with a hat trick and one one assist at Dean College and added a pair of scores at SUNY Purchase. He currently leads the team in scoring with eight goals and six assists for 14 points in six games.
Schumacher paced the Mariners with seven ground balls and five caused turnovers last week. In six games this season he's recorded 16 ground balls and eight caused turnovers to go with a goal and an assist.
Mitchell (1-5 overall) will next host Albertus Magnus College on Tuesday, March 15 at 3 p.m.
