NEWTON, Mass. – The Mitchell College men's lacrosse team dropped a 25–0 decision to Lasell University in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Saturday afternoon at Grellier Field.
Lasell controlled the game from the outset, building a 10–0 lead in the first quarter and extending the advantage to 15–0 by halftime. The Lasers continued to add on in the second half to secure the conference victory.
Mitchell recorded 12 shots in the contest, with sophomore Nathan Mahoney (Stonington, Conn.) leading the way with six shots, including three on goal. Freshman Graham Brown (Southlake, Texas) and freshman Dylan Johns (New Britain, Conn.) each added shots on goal for the Mariners.
In goal, sophomore Cameron Haefs (Chicago, Ill.) made 18 saves while facing 43 shots.
Lasell held advantages in shots (63–12), ground balls (41–6), and faceoffs (24–5), helping control possession throughout the contest. Julian Vogel paced the Lasers with five goals and one assist, while Cameron Soave and Dominick Ciarelli both saw time in goal, contributing to the shutout.
The Mariners (0–2, 0–2 GNAC) will look to bounce back when they host Elms College in a GNAC clash on Thursday, March 26, at 3:00 p.m.
