Men’s Lacrosse Falls on the Road at Emmanuel
BOSTON, Mass. – The Mitchell College men's lacrosse team fell to Emmanuel College, 24–1, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Saturday afternoon at Clemente Field.
Emmanuel seized control early, scoring eight times in the opening quarter to build a commanding lead. The Saints continued to apply pressure in the second, adding seven more goals to take a 15–1 advantage into halftime.
Mitchell's lone goal came at the end of the first quarter, when junior Cameron Haefs (Chicago, Ill.) found the back of the net with an unassisted tally.
Haefs also led the defensive effort from the cage, making 18 saves while facing 42 shots on goal. Sophomore Nathan Mahoney (Stonington, Conn.) paced the offense with five shots, including three on goal, while freshman Evan Waite (Suffield, Conn.) added three shots on target.
Emmanuel continued to pull away in the second half, outscoring the Mariners 9–0 over the final two quarters to secure the conference victory.
Chase Greenlaw led the Saints with four goals and five assists, while Kellen Connor added three goals and a game-high six assists.
Emmanuel held advantages in shots (59–12), ground balls (54–12), and faceoffs (23–5), controlling possession throughout the contest.
The Mariners (0–7, 0–7 GNAC) return home to face Albertus Magnus College in a GNAC tilt on Wednesday, April 8, at 12:00 p.m.
