Mariners Place 20 on NECC Academic All-Conference Team
MANSFIELD, Mass. - A total of 189 student-athletes, including 20 from Mitchell College, were named to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Academic All-Conference Team for the 2020 fall semester.
The 20 selections were the most Mitchell has produced in the fall semester in its 12 years as an NECC member. The women's volleyball team led the way with six selections while men's soccer had five, followed by women's soccer (4), women's cross country (3) and men's cross country (2).
Representing the Mariners were sophomore Claire Binfield (women's volleyball), junior Grace Burns (women's cross country), sophomore Nolan Clack (men's soccer), senior Hannah Corrigan (women's soccer), junior Stephanie Costabile (women's volleyball), sophomore Olivia DeLoach (women's volleyball), senior Diego Di Carlantonio (men's soccer), junior Nicholas Ghirardi (men's soccer), senior Taya Gollsneider (women's cross country), junior Joshua Hermann (men's cross country), junior Chad-Wayne Hopkins (men's soccer), sophomore Lexi Hubbard (women's volleyball), sophomore Hannah O'Brien (women's volleyball), sophomore Sasha Pereira (women's soccer), junior Brandon Reynolds (men's cross country), sophomore Rachel Ricciuti (women's soccer), junior Mason Rubino (men's soccer), sophomore Bree Rudolph (women's volleyball), sophomore Mariah Travisano (women's soccer) and sophomore Emma Tschaikowsky (women's cross country).
A total of 12 Mariners were first-time fall honorees. Hermann, Reynolds, Burns, Hopkins, Rubino and Costabile were repeat selections while Di Carlantonio and Corrigan earned the distinction for the third time in their careers.
To be eligible for NECC Academic All-Conference, a student-athlete must post a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.40 on a scale of 4.00 and must be a sophomore or higher in class standing. Student-athletes who competed in men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball, men's and women's cross country and field hockey were eligible for fall NECC academic honors.
